You might remember this adorable couple from their Webster’s Falls engagement session we shot last Fall. We had a great time and so we were very excited for their April 2012 Ancaster Mill wedding. However, we were a little nervous about if I would be able to shoot it because I was due with our first child (baby Liam) on April 4th! So, we arranged for an awesome back-up team just in case, and luckily Liam was born on April 12th, which meant I was able to shoot the wedding on April 28th after all! We’d like to thank James & Krista again for being so wonderful and supportive of our growing family. Now, back to the wedding details!
James and Krista’s big day took place at the lovely Ancaster Mill, where the ceremony was held inside, followed by family formals, wedding party and bride & groom photos outside. The waterfall is always a beautiful backdrop, as is the outdoor chapel. We had gorgeous foliage for so early in the year!
Our favourite details from James & Krista’s wedding have got to be at the reception. One of the big things we have in common with these two is music. James is a huge Radiohead fan and Krista is a huge Pearl Jam fan. So, all their tables were named for an album from each band, and their favourite track on that album…amazing!
Not music related, but still a super cool idea for wedding favours – tulip bulbs with custom stamped bags were available in 3 different colours, and each guest was encouraged to take a bulb home and plant it as a keepsake. Such a unique and suitable idea for a Spring wedding!
As always when we shoot at the Ancaster Mill, we finished the night with some dramatically-lit portraits by the waterfall, right after sunset during twilight. Love the romantic feeling in these images!
Congratulations James & Krista, it was truly our pleasure.
Lisa & Justin
