I’m super excited to share this engagement session for Sameena & Bem with you today! We actually came around to shooting their engagement photos at Brassaii Restaurant in downtown Toronto at the last minute. It was funny how it came together actually.
We had originally been planning a cherry blossoms shoot in High Park but at the last minute we changed our concept and did a much more dramatic-style shoot at the request of the couple.
Funny story – I had recently seen the re-designed interior (re-design as of 2010 anyway) of Brassaii Restaurant on a Canadian TV show called ‘Being Erica’ and was so struck by the beautiful neon sign that said “Love me till I’m me again” that I instantly Googled the location. The TV show was exclusively set in Toronto so I knew it had to be somewhere nearby. Up came Brassaii Restaurant on King Street West, and I instantly made a mental note to add Brassaii to my shoot location wish list. So, I found it particularly fortuitous when my bride Sameena called me up and said they wanted something more dramatic and darkly lit for their engagement photos. I instantly suggested Brassaii, and turns our that my bride Sameena was going to suggest the same spot because they had even held their engagement party at the restaurant! So you see? This shoot was totally meant to be! Anyway I just adore not only the cool neon sign but the beautiful daylight streaming in through the windows. Check out the images to see what I mean.
A big thanks to Brassaii Restaurant for use of your beautiful space, and thanks Sameena & Bem – can’t wait to shoot your Thompson Hotel wedding tomorrow!
