Welcome to one of my favourite weddings of the year – Caitlin & Adam’s Evergreen Brick Works wedding, with reception following at the always amazing Burroughes Building in Toronto, ON. While every wedding I photograph is special in its own way, Caitlin & Adam’s day just felt so full of love, fun and a heck of a lot of beautiful details! Check out the prettiness below…
Between the gorgeous wedding ceremony at St. Brigid’s Parish, to the wedding party Evergreen Brick Works wedding photos, to the impeccably styled wedding reception at The Burroughes Building, Caitlin & Adam’s wedding day was nothing but perfection!
Planned by the always talented & resourceful ladies from Laura & Co. Events, this lovely couple actually coordinated all the details for their wedding day while leading their daily lives back at home in Calgary, Alberta. Luckily these two had an amazing vision, helped along by the vision of their planner Laura Atendido and many other incredible Toronto wedding vendors. From the lovely autumnal chic design of the ceremony to the elegant but deep colour palette used in all the reception details, ever piece was picture perfect, therefore I just had to photograph everything!
To compliment this November wedding in Toronto, we felt that Evergreen Brick Works wedding photos would be so perfect! I think between the view of the CN Tower, the beautiful warm sunlight & the autumn leaves, Evergreen Brick Works wedding photos were therefore a perfect Toronto photo location for Caitlin & Adam. Almost perfect? Nope. Totally perfect!
Curious to learn more about this gorgeous wedding couple? Here are a few questions I asked Caitlin & Adam during the wedding planning…
Q. What do you love most about your relationship?
A. We are able to be totally ourselves around each other and we’re constantly laughing! It is like being around your best friend all the time! Whether it is at a work function, family party or the bar on the weekend, we are always true to ourselves and always enjoy ourselves!
Q. How did the proposal take place?
A. On September 6th, Caitlin and I went for a hike at the Panorama Mountain Resort outside of Invermere, BC. I had primed her up for the proposal to take place the following weekend. She was suspecting something, however, was totally blown away when I got down on my knee! I set up a “selfie” photo with my DSLR camera and actually recorded video. We “took the photo” then I got down on 1 knee and proposed. Total surprise!
Q. Why did you choose your wedding venue(s)?
A. I grew up in Toronto and have a very large family located there. Consequently, as Caitlin poked around venues, she fell in love with The Burroughes Building because of its modern yet rustic feel. It has a way of bringing across both an urban and finer touch. Queen and Bathurst also holds a special place in my heart as I played lots of music in the Big Bop in my youth (located right beside the Burroughes).
Q. What is your vision or theme for your wedding? Do you have a particular colour scheme?
A. The colour scheme for our wedding is primarily around fall colours: blue, maroon and fall yellows. The general theme can best be described as fall urban chic. Think “Brooklyn” in terms of a brickey feel while stylish.
Congratulations and thank you to Caitlin & Adam for sharing your stunning wedding day with me!
