From Day To Night Workshop | February 20th, 2015 | Hamilton, ON

from day to night photography workshop, toronto, ontario, canada

This past February 20th, 2015 I held my workshop for professional photographers called ‘From Day To Night’, covering everything from the business of wedding photography to lighting theory & hands-on shooting.  It took a lot of planning, which I enjoyed every minute of!  Teaching is something I really love to do, and I had so much fun sharing a few things I’ve picked up over the last 7 years with the passionate & talented photographers who joined us at From Day To Night!

We had so much fun with our 10 workshop attendees, and want to thank everyone who came out!  I would also like to thank our amazing & beautiful couple Andrea & Billy who modelled for us, Jessica Jean Myers, our very talented hair & make-up stylist, Trayc Dudgeon from Blue Rooster Studio who shot the fabulous ‘behind the scenes’ images shared in this post, my good friend Rebecca & of course my husband Justin for all their amazing help ensuring the day ran smoothly!

As I said, the workshop took a LOT of preparation, so a massive thanks to my husband Justin who made it possible by watching the kids so much while I worked like crazy.  Being crafty is one of my favourite things, so I decided to make the vintage LOVE marquee sign you can see in the images from the night portion of the shoot.  I’m pretty glad the thing turned out because I not only managed to inhale spray paint dust, but my office also became coated in a fine dusting of red particles.  So yeah, next time, I’ll pick the summer time and outdoors to do a craft like this again!

Also a huge thanks to our workshop sponsors – we appreciate your support and the attendees definitely appreciated the discount codes & prizes that were so generously donated!

I had a blast and learned a TON – even though it looks like I was possibly picking my nose in one shot… Hahaha!

Thanks Alicia – it was so fun to have you and I know, I laughed a little at that photo but it was such a great photo otherwise I hoped you’d have a giggle 😉 I can attest that you didn’t pick your nose once during the workshop, LOL
