Some of you may remember Patricia & Stephen from their engagement session, which I shot in the summer of 2010 at Adamson Estate in Mississauga. These two live in Ottawa, but they tied the knot here in the GTA last Fall.
Justin and I just loved working with these two and their families. Our favourite weddings are those where the feelings are almost palpable. Everyone is in a great mood, and despite any stresses of the day, or something not going perfectly here or there, it all just comes together because the bride and groom are so happy together. This perfectly describes Patricia and Stephen. These two are clearly made for each other, and throughout their engagement session and their wedding, we feel we have made new friends here.
The day began in Port Credit at the lake, where we shot some photos with Stephen, his groomsmen and family. Then it was off to Patricia’s parents’ house, where the bride was taking some shots of her own (Patricia loves photography – it’s the first time a bride has photographed me back!) I thought it would be fun to shoot her dress hanging on the laundry line in the backyard.
After Patricia was in her gorgeous gown, we arrived at the St. Maximillian Kolbe Church in Mississauga for a heartfelt Polish wedding ceremony. I just loved the kiss shot here!
One of my favourite spots for photos in the GTA – Gairloch Gardens in Oakville – provided the backdrop for the wedding party & alone photos of the happy newlyweds. The view of the lake from Gairloch Gardens is really gorgeous!
The party continued at Banquet Royale in Mississauga, with a lovely first dance. The smoke along with our flashes created a really surreal and unique feeling during the first dance photos.
A big thanks to Patricia & Stephen for being such wonderful clients – you two are fantastic!
