Carolyn & Roberto were a little apprehensive about their engagement shoot a few weeks back, but they needn’t have worried because – wow! They are absolutely dynamite in front of the camera! Check out their Polson Pier engagement photos below to see exactly what I mean.
These two lovely people wanted to keep their shoot chilled out, so we originally planned to shoot at the Harbourfront in downtown Toronto, however when I arrived about 45 minutes before the shoot, it was a complete zoo! I called Carolyn & Roberto and made the suggestion that we try Cherry Beach and Polson Pier instead. Who doesn’t love Polson Pier engagement photos? I’m so glad we changed locations, because these images were just meant to be.
Cherry Beach is a quaint little beach off Cherry Street in downtown Toronto. It was a busy Sunday evening but the beach is large enough that we managed to get some privacy for the shoot.
We located an overturned canoe, and a small rustic-looking boathouse. There’s something about this boathouse in black and white that works so well in these images. I also loved that Carolyn & Roberto were happy to kick off their shoes and go for a stroll along the edge of Lake Ontario.
Just before sunset (and after a quick wardrobe change), we drove over to Polson Pier for what I hoped would be a good sunset. Polson Pier engagement photos are the perfect way to show off the best view of the Toronto skyline! It had been off and on raining all day, with thunderstorm warnings. Of course this usually makes for a better sunset but you never know with mother nature. Turns out we got very lucky and were rewarded with one of the best sunsets of my career! Colour like this doesn’t happen every day, and these images have had almost no post-production work. That was actually how amazing the sky was.
Thanks Carolyn & Roberto – I am so excited for your wedding and I’m so glad you love your Polson Pier engagement photos as much as I do!
