Royal Ambassador Wedding Photography

Laura & Ian were a lovely couple we had the pleasure of working with last year.  These two held their Royal Ambassador wedding in Caledon last summer, where they tied the knot at a beautiful outdoor ceremony, followed by a tented wedding reception for all their guests.

The ladies got ready at Laura’s parents’ home, and we took a few minutes to shoot some portraits of the beautiful bride before heading off to the Royal Ambassador in Caledon.  From there it was right down the aisle to meet her soon-t0-be husband Ian.  The ceremony site was gorgeous – situated right beside the pond, with friends and family watching as Laura and her parents made their entrance by walking down a large flight of stone steps.  Laura & Ian became husband and wife, signed the paperwork, and celebrated during the ceremony with a glass of wine and a toast to friends, family and love.  Ian even walked back down the aisle with a wine glass in hand – love it!

Shortly after the ceremony had ended, we began taking the family formals but had to run for cover as a flash rain storm came through!  We ran to the gazebo for cover, resulting in the photo below I snapped quickly of Laura & Ian in the rain, before we got soaked too.  The gazebo worked great in a pinch as a covered area for the family formals.  Luckily, the rain stopped by the time we were ready for the wedding party photos.

The grounds at the Royal Ambassador are huge and perfect for exploring for photo opportunities.  The spot down by the pond is particularly beautiful, and there’s even a little house with a red roof tucked away in the back, almost hidden in the tall grasses that surround it.  These two were all smiles as they posed together for some fun pictures.

Laura & Ian held a lovely outdoor tented wedding reception for their guests, with beautiful details everywhere.  It was a night full of laughs and smiles, as their wedding party and parents made speeches, and everyone had a fantastic time.

Our last photo op of the evening came when the sun began to set next to the pond.  We walked out to the water (perfectly timed, which is important!) and caught the sun setting and twilight.  These are often my favourite images during a wedding day.  A fittingly romantic ending to the perfect romantic wedding day.

Congratulations Laura & Ian!  You are a lovely couple and we wish you all the very best.

Lisa & Justin
