You may remember Ashley & Josh from their Kelso Conservation Area engagement photos, where we had so much fun shooting their pre-wedding photos. You see, we’re friends with Ashley & Josh, so it was such an honour to capture their beautiful Royal Ambassador wedding in Caledon this past autumn.
We began the day at Ashley’s parents’ home in Milton so the ladies could get ready. I couldn’t get enough of Ashley’s adorable little flower girls! They were so sweet, and just wanted to help Ashley with everything.
With lovely flowers & decor by Rachel A. Clingen, the entire day was absolutely stunning! Ashley & Josh chose to hold their wedding ceremony outdoors at The Royal Ambassador, right on the water, beside the gazebo. They included a sand ceremony, and before they knew it, were pronounced husband & wife by Reverend Judith Twells!
The grounds were so beautiful and with the bright sunny September day, we had the most perfect weather for wedding photography.
The wedding reception was made even more beautiful by Ashley & Josh’s wedding cake, designed by the amazing Lori Hutchinson a.k.a. The Caketress (who also designed my very own wedding cake!), and even sweeter with personalized Hershey bars, customized as favours for the guests that said “HERETHEYARE” – so cute!
Once Ashley tossed her beautiful white bridal bouquet, it was time that Josh threw the garter. True to form, these two newlyweds both give back and work very hard for a wonderful organization that is dear to their hearts – St. John’s Ambulance, so Ashley had a St. John’s Ambulance themed garter custom made just for the wedding! So cool!
I think it was the big surprise of the fireworks display (masterfully orchestrated by FFP Laser Systems Canada), that really took everyone’s breath away! I think a fireworks display might be the most spectacular way to end the perfect wedding day.
Congratulations Ashley & Josh! It was beyond an honour to be asked to capture your day, and we are just so happy for you both!
