As we’re still catching up posting all the beautiful people we had the pleasure to work with in 2014, I’m happy to share today’s wedding with you – meet the charming couple Michelle & Steve.
The wedding day began at the Shangri-La Hotel, full of beauty (hair & make-up styling) and shenanigans (a few hilarious Chinese door games which ended up with Steve plucking his own eyebrows for the amusement of his Bride-to-be)! We had enough time for a few quick portraits in the Shangri-La Hotel lobby, which ended up being some of my favourite images of 2014 (one of which you can see above, in front of the fire). These two really know how to get snuggly on-camera – I love it!
We had the honour of capturing two Chinese tea ceremonies between Michelle & Steve and their families, before Michelle walked down the aisle to meet her beloved at the historic Trinity College Chapel at U of T.
Once officially married, we took some portraits in the Trinity courtyard at the University of Toronto, and also explored St. Michael’s College as a beautiful (and less commonly used) backdrop for some wedding party & alone photos.
A gorgeous reception awaited Steve & Michelle’s wedding guests at St. Lawrence Hall in downtown Toronto. Guests signed a globe for the travel-loving newlyweds, and took in the personalized details (like the special hot sauce made by Michelle’s Dad – a.k.a. Uncle John – to hand out to guests – too cute!) The wanderlust theme of the wedding reception was apparent with the decor, which I thought was so unique and fun.
The night was filled with heartfelt speeches, hilarious games and some traditional Chinese table toasting to round out the evening.
Congratulations Michelle & Steve – it was such a pleasure working with you both! We wish you so much happiness and fun as you travel the world together throughout your marriage!
