Toronto Photography Locations

What type of location are you interested in?

Kensington Market

Kensington Market is our favorite area in Toronto to shoot graffiti walls.  We find the artwork to be colorful and unique, and there are many nooks and crannies which serve as nice photo spots.  For Toronto photography locations featuring street art & graffiti, the Kensington Market area can’t be beat!

Address:  Kensington Ave, Toronto, ON M5T 2K2
Permit Required:  No
Indoor Location:  No

Queen Street West

If you are looking for urban style photography, Queen Street West offer a more funky and fun vibe in downtown Toronto.  The corner of Queen & John has a great angle of the CHUM building and the CN Tower.  There’s also many alleyways and storefronts which work great as colourful backgrounds.

Address:  Queen Street West, Toronto Permit Required:  No
Indoor Location:  No

Toronto Music Garden

The Toronto music garden is located downtown Toronto right near the lake and is part of the Harbourfront Centre. There is a great view of the CN Tower and some grass covered steps which makes for a nice photography spot. This is a cool location if you want a combination of urban and greenery in your photos.  Toronto photography locations with grass and water are a bit hard to come by!

Address:  479 Queens Quay W, Toronto, ON
Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  No

Yorkville / Bloor St.

Yorkville & Bloor St. are the perfect location if you want dramatically-lit, night time photography with an urban feel.  Located in downtown Toronto, Yorkville is perfect for this because of all the lit-up storefront windows.  Because Yorkville is public property you don’t need a permit to shoot here.  If you go in the summer, some pretty cool images can be created by shooting through the waterfall fountain.  This is a very different and specific type of high fashion engagement / wedding photography.  It’s highly posed and carefully lit to achieve a commercial / editorial look.  For dramatic & different Toronto photography locations, Yorkville can’t be beat!

Address:  Bloor St. West / Yorkville, Toronto
Permit Required:  No
Indoor Location:  No

Unionville is a very popular spot for both wedding and engagement photography, so if you have your heart set on this location, book early!  It’s the ideal place to shoot “small town” type photos, and offers large trees and a bridge, as well as a couple different spots with train tracks.  The sidewalks are a bit tight, however, so there’s only a few spots large enough to shoot the wedding party groupings, and the rest of the town is best left for the Bride & Groom’s alone photos.

Address:  Unionville, ON (part of Markham)
Permit Required:  Yes (but not so much for engagement photography).
Indoor Location:  No, but there is one spot with a large “overhang” which could be used for a few photos in case of rain.
