Chudleigh’s Apple Farm

If you’re willing to think outside the box when it comes to finding Toronto photography locations, Chudleigh’s is a very popular apple orchard that’s been around forever in Milton, Ontario (my hometown)!  A permit here isn’t cheap but it’s a pretty gorgeous place to shoot, and along with a permit comes permission to shoot on the private property of the Chudleigh family in front of their house (and use of the wooden swing pictured in the gallery below).  At Chudleigh’s you can also find hay bales, tractors, a great view of the Escarpment and in the autumn, pumpkins!

Address:  8501 Chudleigh Way, Milton, Ontario, L9T 0L9
Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  No

Downey’s Farm

The corn maze and big hay bales are a main feature at Downey’s Farm.  The farm is very welcoming to couples looking to shoot their photos here – all you have to do is get in touch and arrange for a permit.  If you like pumpkins, consider going in October.

Address:  13682 Heart Lake Road, Brampton, Ontario L7C 2J5
Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  No

The Good Earth Food & Wine Co.

This orchard and vineyard is simply beautiful. It’s down near Niagara in Beamsville, but not so far that we would have to charge extra fees. It’s a great place to catch a sunset and shoot some romantic photos between the rows of grape vines.  I don’t usually recommend props but bringing along a blanket and a small picnic with some wine works great at a location like this.

Address:  4556 Lincoln Avenue, Beamsville, ON
Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  No

Pillitteri Estates Winery

I love shooting at wineries, and Pillitteri Estates located in Niagara-on-the-Lake was quite gorgeous.  I liked that it offered two different opportunities – outside with natural light and inside the dark wine cellar with our off-camera flash and video light.  Please note that to shoot specifically at this location, travel fees may apply.  Please inquire for more information.

Address:  1696 Niagara Stone Rd, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON L0S 1J0
Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  There is an underground wine cellar with barrels, but best suited to Bride & Groom, vs. entire wedding party or families.

Terre Bleu Lavender Farm

We shot for the first time at a lavender farm in 2013 and I thought it was so gorgeous (as long as you don’t mind posing alongside the harmless bumble bees)!  While the farm that we shot out was quite out-of-the-way there apparently a few lavender farms within GTA area, and we found an amazing one this year in Milton!  These images were shot in 2014 at Terre Bleu Lavender Farm in Milton.  The farm also had beautiful horses that they were happy to allow us to photograph with the couple.  An important note regarding this location: Lavender is a seasonal plant and it looks best right before harvest in late July. Please inquire for more information.  Milton wedding photography locations are a bit harder to find, so Terre Bleu is a real gem!

Address:  2501, Sideroad 25, Campbellville, ON
Various Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  No
