What type of location are you interested in?

Adamson Estate

Adamson Estate has some flowers, a nice stone archway and a cool barn-type structure.  It’s right on the water so you can also get some photos on the rocks if you like.  Pretty relaxed and quiet park.

Address:  850 Enola Ave Mississauga, ON L5G 1P7
Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  No

Ashbridges Bay Park

A beach location in downtown Toronto, Ashbridges Bay also has trees as well as sand & water.  A very nice spot for some romantic ‘late day sun’ photography on the beach.  Ashbridges Bay is one of a few Toronto photography locations featuring a beach, sun & sand, as well as the Toronto skyline a short walk away.

Address:  1561 Lake Shore Blvd E M4L 3W6
Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  No

Erchless Estate

The main feature of Erchless Estate is the red & white lighthouse and a beautiful manor-type house on-site called the Oakville Museum.  If you’re interested in Toronto photography locations that aren’t immediately downtown, check out Erchless Estate in Oakville!

Address:  8 Navy Street, Oakville, ON L6J 2Y5

Paletta Mansion & Lakefront Park

One of my favourite spots recently, Paletta Mansion is beautiful as a backdrop and is located in Paletta Lakefront Park.  It’s right on the water with big rocks you can sit / climb on, and there’s lots of treed areas and some flowers as well.  If you’re interested in Toronto photography locations that aren’t immediately downtown, check out Paletta Mansion!

Address:  4250 Lakeshore Road, Burlington, ON, L7L 1A6
Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  No

Polson Pier

Polson Pier is a tricky spot.  Lots of people want this location because of the view of the city scape.  The only thing is that the best angle (shown below) is actually taken from Polson Pier’s private property (the parking lot) and requires a photography permit from the venue.  Also, Polson Pier is a concert venue and if you pick a date where there’s a concert, you can pretty much forget being able to shoot from that parking lot because it’s a zoo.  There is a public park immediately to the side of the parking lot (see photos in the blog post linked below – it’s called Jennifer Kateryna Koval’s’kyj Park and you don’t need a permit to shoot there), however it’s not quite ideal angle-wise.  Also, once you get that skyline shot, it’s a one trick pony.  I always say pick one location only (so we can make the most of your shoot time, without spending your shoot time travelling between locations), however this is the only location I always recommend having a second spot nearby for.  Ideally a second location would be the Distillery District or the beaches (i.e. Cherry Beach).

Address:  11 Polson St, Toronto, ON M5A 1A4
Permit Required:  Yes
Indoor Location:  No

Richmond Green Park

I recently discovered this park and I love it!  It’s pretty gorgeous in the summer and it’s got a lovely gazebo-type structure (even though I typically dislike gazebos – this one looks great!) and it has a lovely little waterfall.  It’s got a lot going on for one location, and it’s a great location for an area where it’s typically a little harder to find photography locations.

Rockwood Conservation Area

This is located in our neck of the woods and the Rockwood Conservation Area is a beautiful park which is huge.  It’s got a beautiful pond, large trees & forests and most uniquely the Mill Ruins.

Scarborough Bluffs

The Scarborough Bluffs have cliffs, sand, rocks and water.  There’s also a little bridge and it’s a nice spot to walk around.  I shot there once near sunset but quickly realized that the sun set behind the bluffs and we lost light fairly quickly.  Next time I’d shoot a little earlier in the day, or maybe in the morning instead.  For a dramatic view of nature, Toronto photography locations like the Scarborough Bluffs are pretty cool!

Toronto Islands

Toronto Island is a great location (especially for that dramatic view of the Toronto skyline), BUT, this shoot location takes a lot more hours than are allocated in a standard engagement shoot, and therefore requires additional shoot time.  Our standard engagement session time maxes out at 2 hours and with the ferry to and from the island, and the walking time when on the island itself, this shoot takes closer to 4 hours.  Please check with us for a detailed quote if you’re interested in Toronto photography locations like the Toronto Island.
