Renata and Jonathan were two of the happiest people we had the pleasure of working with last year. It was clear Jonathan was completely overwhelmed by Renata’s beauty as she walked down aisle at the gorgeous Trinity College Chapel at the University of Toronto campus. Trinity is one of our favourite churches in Toronto as it’s light might be the most beautiful in the city! It was a very unique ceremony also, as it was a mixture of Christian and Jewish faiths.
Standing under the Chuppah, Renata & Jonathan were officially pronounced husband and wife! We then had the amazing opportunity to shoot some portraits of the bride & groom inside Trinity Chapel. This is where we created one of my favourite images from 2012 – the image of Jonathan kissing Renata’s neck while she looks up towards the sunlight – just beautiful!
Renata & Jonathan did a lovely job on the details, taking their peacock colour theme all the way. Some examples include Renata’s awesome hand-painted Peacock shoes (which I believe were an Etsy.com find), their “guestbook” of a peacock designed print where each guest stamps their thumb print and signs their name, a bouquet featuring peacock feathers and their cake which was decorated to look like a peacock with beautiful tail feathers cascading downward.
The cheerful wedding guests enjoyed a lovely cocktail hour upstairs at The Eglinton Grand. Afterwards, Renata & Jonathan shared their romantic first dance (lit by spotlight) on the dance floor below, totally alone, while all their guests observed from above. Everyone loved it! After everyone had made their way downstairs, we shot a big group photo on the dance floor of the Eglinton Grand, which Renata & Jonathan ended up printing on the back of their thank you cards (and it looked fantastic!) What a great memento of an unforgettable evening.
Side note – we had an (always) amazing time working with wedding cinematography team Andrew & Emily from Honey and Dear on this wedding. If you need a wedding videographer – seriously check them out, they are fab – http://www.honeyanddear.com
Congratulations Renata & Jonathan – you two were such a pleasure to work with and we wish you the happiest marriage!
